Get ready South Scottsdale, here we come! Maybe you’ve heard the rumblings already but here is the latest scoop. Cornerstone is excited to announce the launch of our first Multi-Site campus in August. Multi-Site is a new and incredible strategy that churches around the world are using to reach out to their communities. The tag-line description of Multi-Site could be “One Church-Multiple Locations”.

Not too long ago our elders and leadership were discussing the future of Cornerstone. Everyone agreed that God is doing great things here, yet there was a sense that God was calling Cornerstone to extend our ministry to reach out to the entire valley and not just those around Chandler. For years Cornerstone has been a partner in planting other churches to help reach the valley, however it seemed to these leaders that God was prompting Cornerstone to also try new strategies. Everyone agreed that Multi-site is a way to reach people far from Christ and give more people opportunities to grow in their faith through serving and discipleship. Multi-Site is also a way that we could get the benefits that come along with a
big church and still have the community and intimacy of a smaller church. Our desire is not to be satisfied with one site, but eventually to start additional campuses all over the valley. Recently, Cornerstone hired Aaron McRae as Multi-Site Pastor to oversee the development of this new Multi-Site strategy. Aaron will oversee Cornerstone Scottsdale, providing leadership for the campus, a weekly pastoral presence, and being a host for the Sunday worship experience.
Now, you may be asking, “What does a Multi-Site Campus look like?” The simple answer is Cornerstone Scottsdale will be very similar to Cornerstone Chandler in many ways. Our Scottsdale campus will share the same vision and mission, and the values that guide us will be the same. On Sunday morning our worship experience will be the same quality as we are accustomed to and we are thrilled to have Ryan Axtell going to Cornerstone Scottsdale as our Worship Leader. The teaching on Sunday morning will be video of Pastor Linn’s messages. We will offer great children’s ministry and a welcoming environment for our guests just as we do in Chandler. As the campus grows and develops we will add additional ministries, as we are able. The advantage of Multi-Site is that we get to replicate what we love about Cornerstone, while also offering a smaller community for getting to know each other and many new opportunities to serve, helping to extend the reach of Cornerstone’s ministry to a new community.
Another question in your mind may be, “Why South Scottsdale?” When we look at the demographics of South Scottsdale there are many similarities to the people here in Chandler. However, many of the churches of South Scottsdale are struggling and are not well equipped to reach this community. We believe that launching a Multi-Site campus is a great way to take what God is doing at Cornerstone and expand our ministry to help people that may not be willing to drive the extra distance to get here. We would love for you to join us at one of our informational meetings for more details and specifics. These meetings will be Sunday May 24th at 5pm and then Monday May 25th at 7pm.
