Special Needs Ministry (V.I.P.)

Special Needs Ministry is a ministry reaching out to individuals and their families with special needs because everyone is very important to God.

Our Vision: To lead people, regardless of the challenges they face, to a life of faith in Christ and then on the journey to full devotion, one life at a time.

Our Purpose: To assist those with special needs in becoming fully devoted followers of Christ who can then lead others to faith and full devotion.

V.I.P Class

Our VIP program meets the special needs of your child.  Our program consist of sensory and language enriched opportunities, fine motor and gross motor activities, social interaction with peers and adults, opportunities to learn through music and experience God's love through different teaching techniques geared toward our special kids.  VIP Class currently meets at 12:30 pm in Room B104.

Buddies Program

The One on One program accepts children who have emotional, mental, or physical disabilities and partners them with a loving adult volunteer who will regularly assist them during their age appropriate programs. V.I.P Buddies are available for all services. Registration is required. 

Special Needs FAQ

How does it work?  We team a partner (adult/teen) with a person with a disability in our existing programs at Cornerstone Church. 

How do I enroll my child?  Contact the Special Needs Ministry Coordinator by emailing us at heartland@cornerstonechandler.com

How are partners selected?  Once someone notifies us of their interest in partnering, they are given an interview where a determination is made whether they qualify.  Each partner must go through a security screening process to be approved to work with children.

Is the partner trained?  Occasionally our partners have experience working with special needs children/adults, but often this is not the case.  Since you know your child best and are an expert in their care, we rely upon your to help the volunteer learn how to best care for your child.

What does my partner need from me?  Communication with the partner is vital so that they may provide consistent care for your child.  Please pray for your child's partner as they seek to serve you and your child.
